I led the design process for online booking on the Source application.
Members wanted to be able to book homes on the Source application and keep the same favorite features they had on the old member portal.
Increase travel booking and decrease unused vacation days
Change members' perspectives resort unavailability
Keep some of the same user interface elements members liked

"I’m extremely busy with my career and family activities that I have limited time to vacation."
Date-driven members book homes spontaneously as it is hard for them to take time off. Members book homes based on the type of vacation they want and what is available. They typically do not travel to the same locations and rely on the concierge and other members for recommendations.
"I’m retired and an empty nester. I have been using Exclusive Resorts for a while and have favorite locations and homes I want to book."
Experienced members have been members of Exclusive Resorts for many years. They have favorite homes and are flexible when they travel. Since they go to the same locations, they have favorite places and activities which they recommend to their friends and families. However, they like to try new things and look for recommendations.
Following user interviews, we created low-fidelity prototypes to lead discussions with members on how they would like to see home details, compare houses, and book.
Gathering user feedback from low fidelity prototypes, I worked with the front end development team to create a high fidelity prototype. We worked through click and touch interactions before connecting to the backend to ensure the user experience matched what users expected. Lastly, we conducted user testing with members and Exclusive Resort employees to guarantee completion of all tasks.
In the new application, members wanted to be able to search for availability without having to go to the destination pages.
Members wanted to have the control to filter home requirements and browse all homes' availability so they could see when their favorite home was open.
Members wanted to compare home availability within a destination and other destinations availability.
The biggest challenge of this project was to add the ribbon calendar feature from the old desktop application to smaller screens. I created an experience that allowed members to compare availability and select dates on touchscreens, which were core member needs. Working with members throughout the design process, I was able to meet members' high expectations.
I love discussing interesting ideas, new collaborations, or your next marathon (running or watching).
